Getting my Garden on!

For a few years now, I have been on again, off again with the idea of vegie patches, compost, worm farms, chickens and the like. At one point we had some serious tomato and zucchini plants going but alas my motivation waned as did the garden. It now remains a dug up patch of dirt in the back of the yard.

However, my motivation has since returned after talking to my sister in law and I am keen as mustard to turn my backyard into a natural and edible playland. As for the chickens... they may have to wait as our big Cooper Bear will likely mistake them for food instead of egg producing gold.

Check out these awesome gardens. I want one:

Hopefully we will see more of this in the future...

What green thumb tips do you use to get that garden going?

Inda's Beauties

I have decided to start recording the funny things Inda says. As Noa gets older I am sure there will be one for her also.

- After noticing an elderly lady wearing an eye patch, Inda loudly comments, "Hey Mum look! that lady is dressed up as a pirate."
- "Mum you need to go to time out." (I go to time out)
" Now Mum what are you in time out for? And what will you do next time?... USE YOUR WORDS."

To be continued...

A Wintry Afternoon

This afternoon was spent... together. Just together.

That surfing feeling

We have just returned from a brief soujourn to the beautiful River City of Taree to visit Chris' family. These trips are always a change of pace with days spent sunning ourselves on the back deck, reading, eating beautiful food and... surfing.
My sister in law, is a lover of the ocean and it is a common love that we share. Thanks to Nanny and Big Pop, along with my loving husband, I was able to escape for three hours of uninterupted pleasure. Riding the waves of my favourite secret surf spot with some friendly dolphins, I was elated. At the end of the session my face was wind blown, fingers numb and wrinkly, back and arm muscles absolutely spent. But nothing could wipe the big grin off my face. It had been fun.
And to top it off I had my mobile baby feeding service arranged and Noa was waiting for me when I stepped off the sand. Bliss.

Nicole

I have this friend called Nic. She is one talented lady. You name it and she can do it. From sewing to surfing, she manages to excel at whatever she puts her mind to. Whilst a little envious at times, I adore this woman in all her hotness.

Did I mention she is also an awesome photographer? Here is a sample of her work (with some pretty good lookers as her models :p ).
These photos were taken at my brother's weddng...

You also need to go and checkout her swimwear. It rocks.

Thankfulness

 Thankyou Jesus for,
- A cozy bed during these cold winter nights when many are freezing to death on the streets, wrapped in newspaper and hiding in bins for warmth.
- Plentiful supplies of food to keep my tummy nice and full
- A house to call home
- Chris for his patient and gentle love
- Two healthy, bright and beautiful girls
- A rational mind (at times)
- Good health
- Friends who love me for who I am and not who I pretend to be
- Amazing parents and siblings who love Jesus

But above all thankyou for your love, mercy, compassion and grace that would save a wretch like me.

Another Rainy Day

So for the thrid day in a row it has been raining.. again. I get a bit fearful when there are lots of rainy days. We all seem to go a bit loopy, and in my case grumpy. There must just be something about feeling trapped in a confined space with repetitive noises similar to, "muuum mum muuuuuuummmm!" and  "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh" that does it.
There are of course many memorable times whilst stuck inside on a wet day,
- Snuggled up on the lounge watching Aristocats listening to Inda pronounce 'Duchess' as 'Nachos.'
- Bonding over making laundry powder and putting a load into the machine
- Watching Noa giggle and smile.. gets me every time.
- Listening to Chris and Inda playing Hide and Seek
- Puzzles and colouring in books
- And silly dancing that only my girls will ever see

Here is what our rainy day looked like today;

An Inda photo.. to prove I was there :)
